Careers - Intermediate Software Developer

Outer Dev is looking for its first employee, a developer eager to push themselves in a stimulating environment. This is not a "startup" environment where you'll have to work 80 hours; what we're looking for is someone capable of pushing themselves and having fun during their 40 hours of work.

We already have good cash flow with great clients. The purpose of this hire is to lighten my workload on the delivery side so I can focus more on sales and marketing. If you want to learn a lot and have ownership, this is your place.

Outer is a 100% bootstrapped company, there are no outside shareholders and we have no intention of getting any.

Our Philosophy

The company's philosophy is to always seek improvement and push out of the comfort zone as much as possible. We want to grow our revenue, not our headcount, so we're always looking to be ultra-efficient.

Currently, we have clients in various fields, but the future vision is to focus on the logistics industry to dominate the automation and custom development services market in this industry, then develop our own products. If you're interested in this industry, Outer is your place!

Our Approach

Our development approach is to always focus on understanding our clients' business reality to help them and build the right software tools accordingly. We're looking for someone who wants to understand the usefulness of what they're programming in the big picture. Obviously, you won't understand everything at first, but we want you to push to understand and have a natural curiosity for business.

A big growth strategy for Outer is organic content. But truly organic – we want to tell our story, be authentic, and attract attention through that.

The other way to get clients, and the one that works best to date, is cold outreach. I won't involve you in that, but just so you don't think we're 100% dependent on Instagram antics to get clients.

Your Profile

• Self-Starter
• Ambitious
• Programming experience (3 to 5 years)
• College diploma or Bachelor's in a relevant field
• Tech stack – we'd be very surprised if you know Elixir, so you must be willing to learn!
